Top 10 Songs

10. Footloose (Kenny Loggins): The movie really gave me the love for danceing I have, so this being the theme song I love the song too. It's pretty much like you know take a break from the downs in life, kick off your shoes, and jsut dance. This exactly how I like to live my life, dance good or bad. People don't know how I can be so happy and danceing all the time, it's because you express your feelings and emotions in dance.

9. Listening to You (The Who): The first time I heard this song was was watching "Tommy the Rock Opera". This song stuck out more than any others. Everyone has their own interpretations on songs and mine for this one is we all are blind, deaf, mute, or something to that affect in a philosophical way. The main character was all these things and he wanted a world that would see how it is, to hear how it is, and to speak of how it is. Peole ignore it and this song was just a huge wake up, everyone joined together in it. It was just very moving,

8. Man in the Mirrior (Michael Jackson): When I first heard this song I was listening to the words of how the worlds very evil because of some people. It talks about change, and your thinking well that would be nice. Than it hits you it starts with you. Than lack of humility kicks in, "what I'm not a bad person." It's all about that we all have evil desires and if you expect change you have to start within yourself and work outward. It is such a powerful message. I try to base everyday off this message. It's all about growth, no one is perfect, but doesn't mean you should just give up striving for goodness.

7. It Happens (Sugarland): This song is so much fun. It makes me want to get my boots on and do some line danceing. The message just makes me laugh. Its all about you have good days and you have bad days. People just want to sit around with a "woe is me" kind of attitude, and than this song is just like "O well get over it. It happens." People will tell you I say a hundred times a day "It happens". When this song came out I was like yes! It's not just me!

6. Dog Days are Over (Florence + The Machine): This song only got me listening to hit for the note hit when she first starts singing the chorus, I wasn't a fan of the rest of the music. But when I actually listened to the whole song I liked the message. It's all about the drudgery is over now run and grab good times while they are here. Don't continue to live in misery if you don't have to. Have fun and let go.

5. Joy (Newsboys): This such a fun and upbeat song that has to do with the joys of receiveing Christ as your Savior. It's saying if it were up to me I could not do it by myself, but because of the sacrfice of Christ I can. I am so overwhelmed with joy and peace. This song is just a good picture of living in the presence of Christ.

4. Dynamite (Taio Cruz): This song is so much fun to blair and listen to base beat along with your heart. This is truely an anthem to the human heart. Everyone wants to feel this way, but are to busy and distracted. The song is all about celebrating life. Not getting so caught up in every single thing. Life is supposed to be fun, so throw your hands up and say "Ayo!". You'll probably get a couple of crossed glances but that's alright.

3. Fireflies (Owl City): This song is so simple and yet so complex at the same time. It is so simple to think how beutiful it would look for something like te nig sky to be lit up by 10,000 fireflies. It is a song that seems so simple as though a dream. Yet its so complex. The singer wants the world to spin slowly, and wants to live in his dreams. Why? Think about it when something beutiful happens in life you don't want it to leave the slower the earth spins the longer you can enjoy, and also when you dream you fantasize on what your heart longs for. It's just a simple melody that relates to us all. We don't like change, but yet it's still necessary, and life goes on. We still keep fantasies to try and keep us there.

2. Rescue (Desperation Band): This song is so beutiful and ministered to me before I was a Christian. This is the song I was listening to when I received Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. I was on a trip with my youth group (which means I went to Church before I was a Christian). As an artist I like to see the heart of he lyrics. I was listening to this song in concert and it was such a good melody. Than the lyrics were just speaking of repentance, a longing for God, a longing for something no one or nothing can give you. I felt a stirring inside unlike any other and had no idea how to explain in it. So many people say a sinners prayer and are pope-like delaired saved. Nothing change of the heart, I didn't need the pope to tell me I was saved, God told me himself, and it was the most real thing I have ever felt.

1. In Christ Alone (Keith Getty & Stuart Townend): It's so hard to believe that this 50 year old church hymn speaks to me more than todays music (Justin Bieber "Baby Baby Baby"). Not that any of these songs are bad (very catchy) but this song has more to do with my relationship with God. I love the music, the words, how it minsters, everything about it. It talks about how in Christ all things are acheived. It's more than a give or take relationship, but it happens with so much more intimacy. I love it, and that is why this is my number one pick.

A New Beginning

New years, an annual celebration of the end of a year and welcoming a new one. A time for learning from old mistakes, and making new goals. A time of growth and maturity. A time where we can start over fresh and renewed.

Now I never have been much of a new years resolution kind of person. It just seems the same for so many people, you make a resolution just to break it. That's like replacing all the windows in the house just so you can throw a baseball at them. As for me my resolution for years has always been to eat healthier. After about two weaks of choking down vegetables I say the famous words "I'll try again next year". Although this year I have made 3 RESOLUTIONS.

I know what your thinking, if you can't keep one how are you going to keep three. You know what they say "three times the charm". But this is different although I will try to eat healthier like maybe using fat-free dressing on my double decker, or maybe using lowfat orange julius's. I'm open to a wide variety of things. I will be sticking to these resolutions because I feel they are life changeing.

(1) Read More. I will be honest I hate reading. I am the kind of person that has to read one paragraph 10 times before I get it. I try and it is just a fail. So why would I make this my resolution? I think you can become a stronger person overcoming your dislikes (different story for anything that's green and taste like the dirt and maniure it grew in). Also you can become much more literate in your speaking. Although I am very wise and anyone who knows me will tell you that (cough cough). So the goal is to read 20 books by the end of the year, at least. I will be starting with Lord of the Flies, by William Golding. In the words of my Aunt who is a talented author, "Nothing like starting hard".

(2) Read the Bible. As for being a Christian each year I want to do more and more to bring to glory to by Heavenly Father. I have read much of the Bible including part of the Penateuch (Genesis, Exodus, Leveticus), Poetry books, the Gspels, the letters of Paul, and Revelations. It goes back to that reading thing, I am reading small parts as my nightly devotional. It is so cool the way the program is set up. It skips around each day has its own theme: the law, poetry, Gospel, epistles, psalms, prophets, and history. I am already gaining a lot from this.

(3) Test My Artistic Ability. As an artist I always want to grow and test myself and see all I can do. We all have our arts and we all have our passions. We all branch out on these and this is how we find where our niche in life is. As for me I am a performer, but there is so much more I want to do. If I can do something I want to know. God has given us talents to use, not to keep hidden away. I intend to use mine for what He wants. That's exactly why I am trying this blogging, because blogging is a form of art. Writing in general is a form of art. It is more than just words, it is taking words and comparing them to your heart and expressing them in a unique way.

So I think we have a lot to expect for 2011 and I wish the very best to all of you and  hope you continue to follow my blogs. I will be trying to do this once a week depending on my schedule. Also if you have a great blog section let me know and I will read it and subscribe if I enjoy it. Thanks so much and God bless.
